October 14th-15th, 2022
From Friday @3pm to Sunday @3pm
LOCATION

We are finally in our dream home and I am inviting you all to come share Mountain View Farm in Luskville, Quebec.  We are located in the countryside just a half hour from Ottawa and over two hours from Montreal.  The original house has tons of character as it was built in the 1920s and we are tucked under the Eardley Escarpment which provides us with a beautiful view.  We are also minutes away from walking trails in the Gatineau Park and will have some goat snuggles at some point over the weekend. We also have some horses, rabbits, chickens and a duck with tons of personality.

We do have a hot tub should you need a soak at the end of the day and the studio has tons of windows to provide us with lots of light and gorgeous views!

ACCOMMODATIONS/MEALS

Serene and peaceful shared accommodations are provided.  Loaded with country charm, there will be an area in the house for relaxing or reading apart from the studio.  Please be prepared to bunk in with someone.  There are also spots available without accommodations if you live close or would like to stay off campus.  Whether you are on or off campus, all meals, snacks and beverages are included with tuition, from snacks on Thursday to brunch on Sunday and all of the goodies in between.

  TRANSPORTATION

The closest airport is in Ottawa and pick-up can be arranged.  Please advise when registering that you will be requiring airport pick-up.  We will require flight information (once you have it) to try and coordinate pick-up of other guests.  Car pooling will also likely be available depending where you live.  Please advise of your interest when registering.

WEATHER

Typical Canadian weather can be unpredictable but layers, a warm jacket and good shoes for walks are always a good idea.  If you are planning to take a dip in the outdoor hot tub, don’t forget your bathing suit, beach towel and a robe!

Details for the East Retreat

A schedule/outline will be sent closer to the retreat, but what you can expect at the East retreat is:

WELLNESS TREATMENTS

We will be opening up the retreat with a smudging and a burning ceremony. This will be facilitated by Natalie Fraser, a unique healer, teacher and yoga instructor who draws from many traditions and practices. Depending on the weather she may also join us on Sunday morning to lead a yoga class overlooking the mountain or a meditation session if it is too cold.

ART PROJECTS

Mixed Media – Natural Fabric Dying – Metal Work

Most of the art projects will be led by artist and hostess Renée Savoie. For this retreat we will be playing with plaster, dying fabric naturally and doing other mixed media techniques.

Guest Artist – Tanya McCormick

Tanya is the owner and creative designer at TM Jewellery. She will be creating a mini forge in a fire pit so we can create some fold formed copper pieces for our journal covers.

PRICING

The cost for all of this awesomeness is a mere $485.00 and includes accommodations, meals, all art supplies and goodies along the way.  The off-campus spots are $440.00 and include everything but accommodations.  All you have to do is show up with some comfy clothes and an open mind/heart.  A deposit of $250 must be made with registration and the balance of tuition must be paid by October 9th, 2022.
