NATURAL FABRIC DYING & VISIBLE MENDING

July 8, 2023 – 9:30am-3:30pm

The day will start with a little opening movement to get you started on the right foot. We will then get into the morning project.

For the morning project we will learn to dye fabrics naturally with household items like food and plants. People have been dyeing fabric with natural dyes for centuries and they’re a great way to get beautiful results without all of the chemicals found in traditional dyes.

We will stop to have a yummy vegetarian lunch and an afternoon meditation. There will also be snacks and drinks available throughout the day.

We will then take our fabric pieces and use them to do some visible mending. There is something about giving an item of clothing a deeper beauty whilst protecting it and saving it from falling apart. It has lead a full life, shows the signs and places of strain. You will need to bring a piece of clothing that needs mending.
